Despite a slightly windy forecast, the weekend weather turned out rather calm, with a slight dropping swell, and little wind on Sat/Sun. The viz was <10m on Friday, to 15m on Saturday, and below the thermocline at Aughinish Rock on sunday, it was 25m. The catch of course being that below the thermocline, the temperature was around 15C, three degrees below the surface temp.
One large Grey Nurse and attendant fish was cruising around the north end of the island during the weekend. The seals were abundant and playful.
Kim and Peter have submitted photos and videos.
