Sir John Young Banks

The original trip notice has been archived.
Friday saw calm surface conditions, and a dive was done on the banks. There was a ~1 knot current, extending from the surface all the way to the bottom, and a moderate long-period swell.
Saturday and Sunday proved to be quite windy. Surface conditions were the classic SJYB boat-swamping swell-against-current situation. The boats returned from SJYB with full tanks of air, which were then emptied on the reefs just off Currarong. The vis was quite reasonable, 19C water temperature, with boarfish, halgerda nudibranchs and a weedy seadragon seen.
Kim and Peter have uploaded photos from the afternoon dives off Currarong.
