 Jervis Bay

2-3 April 2011

Coordinator: Scott Wyatt

The original trip notice has been archived.

The diving at JB was up to its usual high standard. Visibility was quite good 15-20m and the water wasnt too cold (20-21C).

Saturday's winds were strong southerlies, limiting the divable sites to Middle Ground and Bowen Island. Sightings included Weedy Seadragons, Blue Devilfish, a Painted Anglerfish, Giant Cuttlefish, Bull Rays, Kingfish, and zillions of Yellow-tail Scad.

Sunday was much gentler weather with some swell but very little wind, so trips outside the bay were viable. 10-Fathom Dropoff was visited several times where there were a couple of friendly seals, schools of enormous Kingfish, and the usual spectacular JB scenery.

Kim has sent in some photos, and Scott H put some up on his Flickr page
