 Bermagui

4-5 April 2009

Coordinator: Scott Hunt

On the weekend of 4-5 April we'll be heading back to Bermagui for some more exploratory diving. We dived there a couple of times back in 2007 and had a great time poking around looking for new sites. Photos from the previous trips: May 2007 and November 2007.

Diving

Previous trips have turned up a couple of very reasonable spots around the headland at Bermagui which we now have marks for. We also have some other spots to check out including:

Some shore dives (from Tom Byron's book):

These are also mentioned in the book but no actual info on them: Shark bommie, The steps, The Keyhole.

Here are a couple of points for potential participants to consider:

Accommodation/Camping

We'll be camping at Zane Grey Tourist Park, Lamont Street Bermagui 02 64934382 (on the headland near Point Dickinson). Cost will be approx $8 per person per night. If you are planning on bringing children, can you please let me know so I can work out a rate for them with the Tourist Park.

Food/Cooking

If you want to eat in, you will need to bring everything for dinner on the Saturday night. There is a small camp shelter at the park which is handy. The campsite is only a short walk from the centre of town, including the pub where the meals have been quite reasonable on previous trips.

Gear Issue

Gear issue will be 5:30pm Thursday 2nd April at the gear shed at North Oval.

Air Fills

There is no dive shop in Bermagui, so air fills will be from Narooma, about 30km north of Bermagui.
