And for those who are keen to dive at the Carp Gutters before the Xmas Party... Greetings to the adventurers who are out there

Before filling up with sausages at the Christmas Party there will be an exceptional chance for a dive you will never forget: a dive in Lake Burley Griffin!

Lake Burley Griffin was created in 1963 by the construction of the Scrivener Dam across the Molonglo River, and was named after Canberra's designer. Fish found here are Golden Perch, Silver Perch, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Redfin (English Perch), Eurpoean Carp & Murray Cod. Carp & Redfin are the main species caught here.

The Club already discovered the lovely dive site called "Carp Gutters". Have a look at the website. It's located at the western side of the Black Mountain Peninsula. To get there turn right from the dive shed into Barry drive and the next turn off left into Clunies Ross Street. Take the turn off onto Garry Owen Drive and follow it the way to the end. There are a few BBQ areas around and a toilet block. We'll meet there on the Sunday at noon. That will leave us a couple of hours to have a relaxing and adventurous dive or two revealing never seen before treasurers followed by a extraordinary Christmas Party.

At the moment the water temperature average is 19.5c and if you want you can check the weekly update. Apparently the viscosity is quite good this time of year!

If you are keen to come (and on Charlie's blurb there are at least 12 reasons for doing so) please let me Nadine Tietze know: Who you are and if you need Club gear.

The Gear issue will be Thursday 30 Nov 5:30 pm at the gear shed.

Cheers,

Nadine
