The ANU SCUBA club currently has 12 complete sets of SCUBA gear (tank/regulators/BCD) and some additional tanks, weight-belts, tents, and some regulator-console mounted Suunto Gekko dive computers (if you hire these, please be sure you know how to use it: the manual is here, and there's also the ANUSC Gekko Quick-Guide). For club trips away this gear can be used free by ANU student members and for a small fee for our non-student members. All Club members can hire gear cheaply for private use on other weekends. The club has two petrol powered compressors for use on remote trips, a 250 l/minute Bauer Mariner (2011) and a 90 l/minute Bauer Utilis (1972). As of 2012 tank fills are $8/fill. Guides describing how and when to use the compressors are here (low-res PDF) and here (high-res PDF). Useful docs about the compressors and their engines are stashed here for future reference.
If you need snorkelling gear (wetsuit, mask, fins, weight belt etc.) you can hire it at a discounted rate from the Straightline (phone 6247 4911) on Lonsdale St in Braddon (mention that you are an ANUSC diver). In January 2007, the hire fees were $40 for a full set of snorkelling gear for a long weekend.
